Oops! I Made A Boohoo!

Hello! This is Steffie, your forever 25 years old vainpot writer, who loves to share my daily adventures using Young Living products. To read more about my adventures, check out my Facebook group or email me at mailsteffie@yahoo.com.sg.

You all know both Transformation essential oil and Lavender essential oils have lovely purple labels? So well, I wanted to diffuse Transformation essential oil in the office, but got the wrong purple oil. Now my work-area has a lovely peaceful Lavender scent, pray nobody prays asleep. And if anyone does, pray nobody will associate it to my Lavender essential oil.

So why did I want to diffuse Transformation essential oil. I’ve been assigned to take on a new role and new project. The first piece of work for that change just came in, and I felt so reluctant and unwilling. And I need some Transformation oil to support my conscious mind to make the necessary changes.

Transformation essential oil helps to stimulate one’s mind and strengthen one’s resolve when dealing with difficult decisions, especially when related to a change in attitude or a change in one’s belief system.

So I shall apply Transformation essential oil on my forehead and over heart, while inhaling Lavender. I will transform calmly and peacefully.

If you like to know more my oils protocol to support change, have a read at my earlier post.

Steffie’s Top 3 Oils

Hello! This is Steffie, your forever 25 years old vainpot writer, who loves to share my daily adventures using Young Living products. To read more about my adventures, check out my Facebook group or email me at mailsteffie@yahoo.com.sg.

I’ve been tagged to do my top 3 oils, and they are Lavender, RC and White Angelica.

I’ll start with RC and this is one of the first few oils I started using. I’ve sinus issues so I always have a bottle of RC with me and I will be applying it consistently throughout the day. My children always complain of blocked noses when they sleep in air-conditioned rooms, so this is an oil that we apply every night. If I ever run out of RC or if I forgot to bring it along when we are travelling, then we will really be in trouble as they will not be able to sleep.

I will usually take a drop of RC, and apply it on my neck and chest, as well as on my sinuses, which is on the sides of the nose, the nose bridge, under the nose and on the forehead. For my kids, I will take a drop and apply it on just their necks and chest. I’ve attached a roller fitment on the bottle of RC, so my kids can help themselves when they need it.

My second oil is Lavender, which is also known as the swiss army knife of essential oils. With young children around, we get a lot of accidents, or I might burn my hand. So I always bring Lavender around, and I will drip it straight on the area of concern should anything happen.

Lavender is also very good for relaxation and sleep, I like to take a drop and apply it on pillows to help us sleep better. This is also known as an adaptogen, so when I don’t feel right, like how I’m nervous doing this broadcast now, I will apply some Lavender to help to calm me down. Sometimes, I get frustrated at work if there’s too much happening, I will just apply Lavender for that.

Lavender is also a great beauty oil, just add a drop to your beauty routine, it will help enhance your skin and complexion. Like how I have a pimple here now, I will apply a drop of Lavender first before I apply my moisturiser. I also made a DIY toner with Lavender as a main ingredient, I will share about the toner in my beauty post!

My third favourite oil is White Angelica, it is very good for cleansing negative energies. I am pretty sensitive to my surroundings. I’ve shared some stories with those who know me personally, how when I go house-hunting, just by stepping into a house, I can immediately sense if someone has recently died in the house.

This is an oil that I always bring with me when I travel especially since on the flight, there will always be people who are nervous, whether it’s their first time flying or because it’s a long flight. I will apply a drop on my crown and on my shoulders to protect my aura, so that people with negative energies will not affect me.

The moment I get into my hotel room, I will get out my diffuser and start diffusing White Angelica because I want to cleanse whatever negative energies that has been left in the room by the previous occupants.

If your kids are crying uncontrollably at night, I would apply White Angelica as there could be something around the house that’s affecting them, or perhaps some negative energy has been attached to them. That’s when I would apply White Angelica, again on the crown and shoulders.

For me, I engage in lot of discussions at work, and sometimes I feel pretty negative about some of them. That’s when I would apply White Angelica. Sometimes you get people fighting during meetings, that’s where negative energies will grow, so that all that negative energies will not get attached to me. Again, I would apply it to my crown and shoulders, or you can also take a drop and coat your aura, which is about a couple of inches off your body.

Those are my 3 oils! I will be tagging Connie, Farhan and Elaine to do the challenge as well. Thank you for staying with me and bye bye!

There’s No Smell In My Flowers

I thought in celebration of Valentine’s Day, I would write this cheeky post. 😀 And regardless whether you do get flowers, whether you are part of a couple, enjoy Valentine’s Day. Love yourself!

BUT THERE’S NO SMELL IN MY FLOWERS!

Have you realised that our flowers from the florists nowadays don’t really smell erm, flowery? Especially with Valentine’s Day coming up. ‪#‎truestory

Wish that you could have your home smells like a meadow of flowers? Or when you sniff the bouquet that your love gave you, that the floral fragrance suffuse you and you go into a romantic haze?

NOW YOU CAN with this lovely diffusing recipe from Pei Jansen‪#‎teeheehee

“I’ve been recommending what I call the Floral Bouquet diffusing recipe to my girlish friends on weekends in the living room. They love it! That’s 3 drops Lavender, 2 drops Geranium, 1 drop Ylang ylang.”

IMG_2789

I’ve tried it and while I thought it would be like “overpowering floral”, it wasn’t! It’s a light flowery fragrance, like as though you are strolling through a meadow of flowers, dancing in the wind, and can smell beauty and nature mixed together. Or having English tea with your girlfriends in the gardens, wearing Laura Ashley. #‎imaginationoverload

Let’s take a look at some usages for each oil:

Ylang Ylang

Traditionally this is the flower that is strewn over the newlywed bed on wedding night! It also helps one to balance the male and female energies within, supports better focus by spiritual attunement and filters out garbage from the mind.

Geranium

Releases negative memories and take us back to peaceful, joyful moments. It balances our emotions and relieves stress and tension. Interestingly it also supports the liver and blood by releasing the toxins and improving circulation.

Lavender

Oh powerful Lavender! Lavender is a universal oil that has traditionally been known to balance the body and to work wherever there is a need. If in doubt, use lavender.

And of course if you want to learn the full potential of these oils, please check out your eo resources too!

Vetiver, Oh Vetiver!

Psst I’ll let you in on a secret….

Till 3 nights ago, I haven’t tried Vetiver yet in my years of using the YL oils.

I mean I’ve heard of it, how calming it is and how it can help enlarge breasts! But I didn’t reach for it since I like to think that:

  1. I’m very calm
  2. My chest size is just fine!

Until Pei Jansen told me about her “enchanted forest at dusk” diffuser blend (2 drops Vetiver, 3 drops Lavender, 5 drops Tangerine). I am so intrigued by the description that I simply gotta try it.

diffuser blend

I dug out my Vetiver and as I dripped it into the diffuser, the smell hit me! Oh wow! I’m trying to describe how lovely, how complicated it smells to me. Its smoky, musky, woodsy. #loveatfirstsight

My first thought was I gotta get more bottles! And because I’m curious about its properties, I went to read up more on it.

Among its many many properties, Vetiver is also an immune stimulant, promotes restful sleep and can help with oily, tired, aging, irritated skin. Interestingly enough, it calms the nervous system WHILE stimulates circulation.

And yes like Myrrh, it’s a very thick oil so be patient as you drip it out!

I shall be diffusing Vetiver tonight.
